How do I book a consultation?
You can book online via our website or by downloading the DeVine Hair Studio App (Available on App store + Google Play)
Do you offer consultations and are they free?
Yes, we do offer consultations with our senior stylist on Tuesdays from 10am – 2 pm book online today. There is a £15 charge for your in-depth hair consultation.
I need advice on my hair do you offer this?
Absolutely! Book in with us for a in-depth hair consultation so that we can discuss your needs and offer you a solution based on our decades of valuable expertise.
I have a hair emergency! How soon can you fit me in?
We are an appointment-based salon but there may be occasions when we have an appointment available due to a cancellation. This may help you with your hair crisis! We can’t promise, but it’s worth texting or emailing us on during business hours to check for availability on 0751 030 1477 or check our availability on our booking system.
What condition does my hair need to be in when I come for my visit?
If you’re coming in for a service that includes wash, make sure that your hair is detangled and ready to be washed. If your service does not include wash, please come with clean detangled hair. If unsure call us on 0121 420 3777 or text us on 0751 030 1477
Is there any way to revert heat damage?
Unfortunately heat damage is irreversible. If you prefer to wear your hair in its natural state, then it is advisable to stop straightening to prevent heat damaging your curl pattern.
What is an in-depth hair consultation?
We understand that your hair is important to you. This service is for you to discuss your new hair transformation, any hair concerns, hair condition or ask any hair related questions, big or small. We are here to give you professional advice and guidance. We are happy to listen and provide you with honest and sound advice.
Treatments
What treatments do you do?
We offer a prescriptive range of treatments. We will advise you on your scalp and hair, developing a course of treatments to suit your needs. This can involve a mixture of scalp and hair applications for home use between salon services.
Is it recommended to have a treatment before a relaxer?
Yes, a protein treatment one week beforehand.
How do I deal with dandruff?
Regular washing with a medicated shampoo or Kera Care dry itchy is needed for those that suffer with dry scalp issues. Seek professional advice from your GP or stylist regarding this.
Do you have a treatment for dry scalp/dandruff?
Yes, we provide a scalp retreat therapy treatment, it will help to maintain healthy hair and scalp . We recommended weekly treatments.
What is the difference between a Protein and Moisture Treatment?
Protein treatment strengthens the hair and can restore damaged hair. A moisture treatment hydrates the hair and improves hair strength and elasticity by balancing water levels in hair fibers.
How regular should I treat my hair? (Relaxed)
You should maintain your hair with a moisture treatment every two weeks and protein treatment in salon every 6-8 weeks, this time frame is based on healthy hair. Your DeVine stylist will advise you of a treatment regime to suit your hairs needs.
Colour Services
Do you colour hair?
Yes, we colour all hair textures.
Is a patch test required in order to colour your hair?
Yes. A patch test is required 48 hours before all colour service to ensure there are no allergies. This applies to all clients.
Colour Consultation
New clients are required to book a consultation and patch test prior to booking a colour service. All chemical processes are subject to a consultation. Your stylist will give you expert advice and gather
information from you, to help achieve desired look. You can send images via WhatsApp/email of your desired colours well as a current photograph of your hair.
How often can I have my hair coloured?
This can depend on numerous factors including hair growth and how the colour is being applied. We usually recommend between 6-8 weeks for your next colour appointment, but your DeVine stylist will advise you after assessing your hair.
Cut + Finish
What technique is used to cut hair?
It depends on the client’s hair texture and preference. It can be cut curly wet, curly dry or blow dried. For more precision cut, straight or smooth blow dried is recommended. If you usually wear your hair curly your hair will be trimmed in its curly natural state.
Can my hair be trimmed without having a DeVine Silk Press?
Yes, we do trims on dry, wet, or blow-dried hair depending on the hair texture. That does not require a styled or straightened finish.
How regularly should I trim my hair?
A trim is recommended every 3 months to avoid travelling split ends and it also helps keep your hair full whilst maintaining length.

How can I pay in the salon?
We accept cash, debit and credit cards in the salon. We also accept bank transfer, if you are required to make a deposit for your service; you’ll be advised on how to complete this when you are making your booking.
Silk Press
What’s included in a DeVine Silk Press Service?
Your hair will be cleaned thoroughly. After that a deep conditioning treatment is applied to add moisture to your hair and strengthen and nourish your hair so that it will be ready to withstand heat. Next, your hair is blow dried smooth. The final step, your hair will be straightened with flat irons from root to end then styled.
What is a DeVine Silk Press?
A professional styling method to transform natural textured hair to super silky straight hair without the use of harsh chemicals. Flat irons, heat protection and different products are used.
How long does a DeVine Silk Press Last?
The longevity depends; however, it can last between 1-4 weeks. It can sometimes last longer, depending on how well the hair is maintained. If your hair comes in contact with moisture from water, humidity or sweat, it will begin to convert back to its natural texture
Is a Silk Press permanent?
No, it’s not a permanent straightening solution for natural hair. Moisture, water, steam, and sweat can cause your hair to revert back to its natural texture.
How to maintain a DeVine Silk Press?
- Wrap your hair at night in a circle and cover with a satin or silk scarf.
- Avoid Moisture
The small amount of moisture or humidity in the air will have your freshly silk pressed hair looking frizzy and puffy. In the shower make sure you wrap your hair with a satin scarf and a shower cap.

What is texture release?
The Avlon Texture Release System is an innovative way for you to elongate tight coils for easier combing and management, and to be able to switch between curly and straight hairstyles without any chemical processing. This treatment lasts between 8 and 12 weeks. You can find out more on the Avlon website or see more on our services and prices.
Who is Texture Release or Revitalise Keratin Treatment suitable for?
Texture Release is the perfect solution for those who want optional textural change with increased conditioning benefits. So, you can transform your curly, coily hair to sleek and straight without committing to a permanent texture-altering treatment.
How long does a Texture Release or Revitalise Keratin Treatment last on my hair?
These services will last for approximately 8-12 weeks depending on the frequency of repeated treatments.
How long does a texture release or revitalise keratin treatment take?
Service time can take 2-4 hours depending on your hair texture/ condition.
What is the difference between a texture release/keratin treatment and relaxing?
A relaxer is a permanent straightening system to make the hair completely straight. A texture release/ keratin treatment is a semi- permanent straightening system that makes your hair straight whilst maintaining your natural curls or coils and will only stay in your hair for up to 12 weeks. When texturizing you add straight texture to the hair the amount of texture depends on preference and suitability.

What relaxers do you use?
Affirm, Fiberguard, professional conditioning relaxer system by Avlon.
What’s the difference between a relaxer and a texturiser?
relaxer is a permanent straightening system to make the hair completely straight, a texturizer is a chemical process that smooths and de-frizzes your hair while maintaining some of your natural texture.
My hair is relaxed but I want to stop can I have a silk press instead or just grow it out?
It is recommended to have regular salon treatments whilst transitioning and you can have a silk press if you still want to maintain a straight look.
Is a patch test required in order to relax your hair?
No, a patch test is not required for this service.
How regular should you retouch relaxed hair?
We recommend 6-12 weeks depending on your hair texture, our stylist will recommend the time frame that is suitable after assessing your hair.
How to avoid breakage on relaxed hair?
It is important to keep your roots moisturised with either a daily leave in conditioner or moisturiser. DeVine recommends “Avlon affirm light hair dress moisturiser” or “KeraCare overnight moisturising treatment” These can be purchased in salon or via our online shop.
My hair is natural and I'm thinking about getting a relaxer, should I book in for a consultation?
We recommend an in-salon treatment 7 days before any relaxer service. This allows the stylist to assess your hair, advise the best treatment suitable for you, assess whether a relaxer is the best option and discuss your hair concerns.
Braids
Do you do braids for European and Asian Hair? How long does it last?
We do! How long it lasts is dependent on your hair texture. Your stylist will advise you.
Can I bring my own colour braids if you don’t supply the colour I’d like?
We have a few colours of X-pressions to choose from in the salon, along with some popular colours. You are welcome to bring your own braiding extensions of your choice for your desired look. We just ask you bring them to the salon 2-3 days before your appointment so the hair can be prepared.
Weaves/Wigs
I am bringing my own hair for extensions. What do I need to know?
Please ensure to bring good quality hair, we recommend virgin hair. We also have 100% virgin hair ready to purchase in salon.
Can I Re-use my hair for my next install?
Yes, you can re-use the hair from your previous service as long as the hair has been washed and no product has been applied. It should be in good condition to be put back into the hair.
Can you take out my extensions and re-use them for my service that day?
No, we do not take out hair and put it back in. The hair will be dirty and not in a condition to be re- applied.
How can I get my virgin hair to last long?

Can I wash my weave myself once it’s been installed?
We only recommend washing virgin hair extensions
I want my virgin hair coloured! Is this possible?
We only colour virgin hair which has been purchased from our DeVine Hair Studio Virgin hair collection.
I'm bringing my own frontal and closure. What do I need to know?
If you are buying your own frontal, please bring into salon up to 5 days before appointment so it can be customised in time for your install. If you purchase your own frontal, the colour of the lace shouldn’t be darker than your skin tone. Make sure you check this before purchasing.

Deposits
Deposits
We require £20 – £40 deposit to secure bookings as we are an appointment-based salon.
Deposits are non-refundable. As long as you keep your appointment, your deposit will not be lost. Your deposit will be deducted from your total on the day of your service
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy
We kindly request that you provide us with 72hours (3 days) notice should you need to cancel or change your appointment. We regret that cancellations made after the required 72 hours’ notice period and no-show clients will be charged 100% of the price of the service(s). We appreciate that sometimes late cancellation is unavoidable, and the management will use their discretion in certain instances. However, we are sure you will appreciate that for every client who cancels late or fails to show, it means another client is turned away and the salon and stylist both suffer a financial loss. A reminder email will be sent out 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Parking
Do you have parking by the salon?
Yes, free parking across the road from salon for up to 2hours or free parking on the side street near the salon.
